This article details the differences between the different messaging types available for your centre to utilise within Kangarootime: Announcements, Account Messaging, Bulletin Board Messaging, and Student Messaging.

Announcements (under Engagement > Messaging > Announcements)
Centres can send a blast announcement to the whole centre.
Cannot yet select a single account or groups of accounts or a class
Parents cannot reply. Goes from KT to the parent app - to all primary contacts and any contacts with messaging authorisations.
Live, not delayed.
Images and attachments can be used.
Use this one if you do not want replies
Can use live links to link a website (policies if they are stored online)
Can be turned off
Employee permissions linked

Account messaging (under Engagement > Messaging > Accounts)
Similar to announcements except the parent can reply
Can message individual accounts, goes to parent app
Live, not delayed
Use this one if you want the parent to reply
Could be used in place of Kiosk messaging
Can attach things to the messages
Can use live links to link a website
Can be turned off

Bulletin Boards
Messages sent to educators in a single centre
Use via point of care or via KT
Can tag people in messages, that person gets a notification in PoC
Whole centre can view all messages
Can be used as reminders of meetings or when in a large centre reaching the other end of the centre
Cannot attach anything
Cannot use live links
Is a live feed
New Bulletin Board does nothing
As an admin person with access to all centres I can see all centres messages clearer in KT console
Can be turned off

Student Messaging
Direct to or from the guardian to the centre
Follows the child - if the child moves room the new room will get the message
Parent can initiate messages
Can be turned off
When employee acknowledges it shows as Staff acknowledged, not the person name
