This article outlines the Kindy For All Queensland Kindergarten 2023 Funding Automation that is available to use to automatically distribute Affordability and Base funding subsidies to children. Weekly payments are created and applied on a Sunday for the week in arrears to use the most accurate attendance data available. Set up Automated Base and Affordability funding subsidies for your program:
- Select Centres > Programs in the Menu.
- Select the three dots (... ) in the actions column of your selected Program and Edit.
- Scroll down to the section named Automatic Funding.
- Enter the start date that you want the automation to begin from. (The system will not create payments for dates before this start date.)
- Enter the amount of weeks that your Kindergarten Programs runs for across the year.
- If you want Affordability payments to automatically apply to the eligible children, tick the box labelled Affordability funding, then Save.
- If you want Base Funding to be automated, tick the box labelled Base funding, and enter the percentage of base funding subsidy you have chosen to apply to the children within the program, then Save.
Customise Funding percentages for specific children:
- Navigate to the Account for the specific child.
- Select the Agency tab.
- Select the three dots (... ) in the actions column of the child's Program and Edit.
- Drop down on the Child Information section, and scroll down to the Customise Automated Funding section.
- Enter the start date that you want the customised percentage to apply to the child from.
- Tick the Base funding checkbox, enter the percentage of base funding that will be applied to this specific child, then Save.

Affordability
Max. Affordability payment ÷ number of program weeks = Affordability payment amount weekly
FTB
Max. FTB payment ÷ number of program weeks = FTB payment amount weekly
Base
Max. Base payment ÷ program weeks x percentage allocated (%) = Base payment amount weekly
