Passing on Payment Fees to Parents

Modified on Wed, 6 Mar at 1:11 AM

A surcharge is included as part of the Kangarootime automated payment service, for each transaction that is processed. From the Billing menu on Settings, you can choose to pass these fees on to your families or absorb them at the centre/business.

These choices can be made by navigating to Billings in the menu, selecting Settings from the drop down options and then on the Surcharges tab.

TABLE OF CONTENTS

Surcharge Options

You can choose to have specific surcharge combinations set up per centre, or you can use the Turn OFF/ON bulk buttons to set all centres to the same.

Turning Surcharges on by setting an option to Yes, will ensure families will be billed the surcharge for each payment that is processed.

Charge Parents Fees?

If you decide to pass on the Credit card and Direct debit fees onto parents for a centre, on the family account and Statement - you will see one transaction with the gross amount they were charged and a second transaction for the Service fee.

Example:

Parent owes $100.00 in fees and they pay by Direct Debit.  The DD surcharge is 80c.

Their statement will show

+100.80 automatic/manual DD transaction

- 0.80 Service fee transaction

Pass Through Dishonour?

If you decide to pass on the dishonour fee to a family for a failed payment, you will see a separate transaction for that dishonour on the family account.
